Luella Guerzon Dickens was born in New York and now lives and works in Oak Park, Illinois. She is an Honor Graduate of the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, where she received both the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Visual Design.

She has served as Department Head of Design Experimentals and Advanced Design at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, Secretary of the Artist Guild of Chicago, and Chairman of the A.G.C. 163rd Fine Art Exhibition. Also among her accomplishments, she has been a design consultant to the Dickens Design Group and has been Assistant to Misch Kohn, I.D. of Illinois Institute of Technology, and an Honorary Member of the Artists Guild of Chicago.
